AlgoTouch: a programming by demonstration tool for teaching algorithms

Abstract : AlgoTouch is a tool that helps teachers explain to beginner programmers how to design basic algorithms. The main idea behind the tool is that the teacher can directly manipulate variables, indexes and arrays in order to execute the core of an iteration. The system offers possibilities for recording and replaying. A complete algorithm can be designed and executed without writing a single line of code. This poster explains the goals of the project and the main features of the tool.
